Ombre Dresser
I'm so not over Ombre! just sayin...
I've been just a little bit busy this past week. One of the things I finished up was this dresser...
Here it is before..
I picked it up at a yard sale forever ago...and finally found its glory! picked a range of my favorite colors, and painted the body a nice clean white...I love it!
Ombre may be out for most of you out there...but I've been wanting to do it for awhile now...so here is one more after pic
Thanks for sticking around through my ruts!

Chalkboard/Pretty Cool Storage!

Okay I hope your not sick of hearing about Dollar Tree...cuz welp, I like it there, and I wanna share what I found...lol So the problem area of My lil mans robot room, has become a major pain in my butt...I realized, why spend a crap-load of time, making a cool fort, when he probably wont spend any time in there anyways, his toys will still be all over the livingroom, my room, the entryway, the hallway...etc. I must face it, my kid loves to make messes, and not in one spot , in a million spots, and that ok...at least hes smi-entertaining himself right...*pssst, keep telling yourself that*
Problem Area= The closet! ugh. it is huge, and just plain fugly...so I decided to make yet another trip to Dollar Tree, and pick up some bins, to store some (yeah and I mean some) of the 5 billion toys...So I got 6 of these blue and green little bins, and put them on this shelf I have moving from room to room, trying to find a good home for it...and I finally did! Yay me!

Then I masked off a pretty large rectangle, and painted it with chalkboard paint outlined it with these really cool letters, courtesy of Dollar Tree, and I found this little set of 3 green baskets,

I took one and screwedit to the wall to hold all of the chalk and eraser...not a bad solution!

I think I'm done for a bit about Dollar Tree...maybe :)

Super Cute Wall Art
The Dollar Tree...is sometimes my happy place. When I step through the doors, this overwhelming feeling of excitement comes over me...and thoughts, like oooh I could do this, and oooh just a little paint...or oooh if I take this and glue it to this! Its never ending :) I love that place.
So while I was there the other day, I was going through all the little vinyl decal section...princess...nah, cheetah print...nah, frilly chalboard...nah, WHAT ROBOTS! YES! Perfect for my lil mans room...I got 3 sets, and lined the robots up just above the chair rail and beadboard I put up here, and they are too freakin cute...and good final touch for sure! Check em out...

So the next time you are at your local Dollar Tree...Dig around! You'll find it...promise!
Stick around for more finds from the Dollar Tree!

Make your own Robot

Dun...Dun...Dun...I'm still not completely done with my lil mans Retro Robot Room. I have no idea why I suffer from "un-finished project syndrom"...ugh but its getting old....lol. So just recently I got a wild hair, and wanted to create my very own robot...to sit on the shelf in Brodys room...
I took a trip to Home Depot and grabbed anything that would be used to build a robot...$6.00 later I was done...*pssst I can't believe that springs cost so much* owell... I still wasn't happy with everything I came up with for the body, that was until yesturday when I was at the Dollar Tree, and found this little ceramic television...and ding! a light went on. I'll use it as the body! Woo Hoo! So here it is!
BEFORE

So after I took a sharpie to his face, I scavenged through my pile of parts here...

Not bad huh! I'm super happy with how he turned out!
Speaking of the Dollar store...stick around for my next post, and I'll show what I picked up, to add to my lil mans room :)

DIY Frame
Heres a little one for the day...I needed a frame for this print I got of ETSY from lillebarntoo for Brodys room, but couldn't find one anywhere 11x17...yeah its and odd one. So I had the hubby cut some of the trim we had left over from the lower part of the wall painted them Brilliant White by Ralph Lauren ( I would never have got this brand but it was on sale!) Really good paint though!...and Voila! Free too! I love that part!
Before/materials:
After:
I'm hoping to get his room done any day now...just one step at a time!

Manic Monday Brag- Bead Board Wallpaper
Happy Monday! ugh....I am beginning to not like mondays much....But I am glad I was semi productive over the weekend and now I get to brag about it!
So I couldn't sleep this morning, and was checking out all the cool little parties, follower appreciation thingies, and giveaways. And I decided I wanted to join in. So I am linking up to quite a few....This should be fun!
Well here is my before and after to brag about... Update on Brody's room: finished the bead board wallpaper, added some chair rail and trim.
Before 1:
Please excuse the mess...we just moved in...and the room is soooooo small I cant get the whole thing in on shot :(
Before 2:
Before 3:
So I used a level to mark a straight line, then taped it off....and started to paint. I misplaced the swatch so not sure on the exact name of the paint color....but pretty much lime green. I think it was about $10 for a quart at Home Depot.
After 1:
Beadboard wallpaper $14 a roll. I used 1 1/2 rolls...enough left to do the bathrooms.
After 2:
For the chair rail, I went a little higher up the wall than normal, with hopes of making the room seem a bit larger, I think it worked? We used this foamy molding, super easy to cut and very bendy. I found it at Home Depot $5 for 8ft peice, we needed about 5 peices.
After 3:
And 1 inch trim molding in the same material to cover all the seams...approx 24" apart. Along this wall the long wall, Hubby added a 1x6 shelf/ledge so I can put up "stuff" yeah haven't got that far...but yeah stuff.
This whole project cost under $100...not bad considering the BIG difference it made
Here is a close-up...looks like the real thing, just spongy feeling. It was ok to hang... This was my first attempt, and random strips hung great. Then there were others that were literally peeling off in the corners, I used a little Elmers glue, and applied it with a sponge....it worked. And I will attempt it again!

Free chair cute-ified
Free...the best part! Not a bad chair besides the "girlie" Dora picture on it...not good for my lil' man... I had some fabric, that goes with the Cogsmo by Cosmo Cricket collection. So this was the perfect spot for it. I just simply cut the fabric to the desired size to cover the existing picture, and use spray adhesive to stick it to the chair....and voila! A matching chair to go in Brodys Robot room!
Before
After
I just noticed, the fabric looks even girlier in this pic...so here is a close-up

The picture of the chair doesn't serve the fabric justice. Gotta get the hang of taking good pics.... I'm trying, promise.
So this project was super quick maybe 30 min, and didn't cost a thing!
Come back soon to see the finished pics of Brodys Robot Room!

Him is a big boy now!
My lil' baby Brody is getting bigger, and alot more adventurous. So its about time to grow up his room from nursery room to toddler room. Brodys Robot Room has been an ongoing project of mine for awhile now. It took awhile to get a design in mind...But after alot of inspirations, and his little hints of what hes into, I decided on "Retro Robots." His room isn't the biggest in the house, but It will work with alot of imagination, and daddys my hard work, it will be an amazing place for him to sleep(not often) play(always) and just hang out with his big brother(who is helping me with ideas).
Here are some Inspirations I stumbled upon while trying to decide...
