My oh my your so good lookin...

I have been trying to finish up this little lady for a few weeks now. We hit a few snags along the way...but she s so good looking now :)
Here is what I started off with {after the little girl who gave her to me} I hit a lazy spot...and left her outside for awhile... during that time we had 2 snow storms and quite a bit of rain...oops, my bad. The good part was that the finish was just flaking of {thank god} which did me a favor, and saved me some work... but the bad part was the veneer was peeling up on the bottoms {not good}

I {scratch that} We fixed the peely veneer by chopping the bottom off and adding some cute littel feet, that were the middle part od a small table I had sitting around...
Heres hubby cutting down the legs to the size we needed.
Here they are being screwed to the dresser.
With a fresh coat of pale gray, shes all ready to be accesorized.
My inspiration for this dresser found at jones design company
I cut a stencil out of cardboard. and traced the stencil over and over until the entire front of the dresser was covered. I drug the drawers into the livingroom, and during American Idol last week, I painted over my pencil ines with a nice crisp white.
I used the same hardware just positioned differently, and spray painted white.
Here she is...Only here is one of the snags that got me...I applied a semi gloss poly and when it dried, it dried with a yellow tint! I was stuck for a few days, trying to decide what to do...Then this morning I just took the sanded to her, roughing her up as much as I could stand. And needless to say, I am quite happy with the end result!

My Oh My shes so good looking!
This week I'm going to be linking up to these parties...wanna join me?

Happy News

The first half of this beautiful Saturday was spent at the doctors with my lil man...a 2 1/2 year old with tonsilitus...ugh too sad.
Came home, layed the boy down for a nap,kicked off my shoes, and logged on to check out what was going on in blog land and got some awesome news, so awesome that the second half of my day just got a bit happier.
On Friday, Sarah over at Thrify Decor Chic was having a little giveaway. I checked out the sponsor,Oriental Furniture. My style isn't so much the oriental style, but the've got some really great stuff, that can go any way :)I went back over to Thrify Decor Chic and left a comment...totally not thinking I would win...but I did! Yeah uh huh, a $50 gift card...can I get a whoot whoot!
I know right! Awesome...I have to narrow it down and pick one of these...
Ok so just one more Woo Hoo!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Nightstand turned Kitchen Island

So does anyone remember one of my recent posts, here. Welp my dream has come true, and its finaly done!
See this nightstand...it has been beautifully transformed into a kitchen island...
BEFORE
AFTER
I butchered the poor thing, and ended up with the "skeleton" of my island :)
Got some pieces of these 4x4's. Cut em up a bit, and attached them to the rest...nice beefy legs ;)
Added some bead board, and paint {cotton whisper by Behr}
Topped her off with a wood top stained "dark walnut"
Then attached these hot little "shoes" to her legs...
added a piece of wood to the bottom, as a bottom shelf, also stained "dark walnut". Then finished it off with casters.
And Viola! Aint she perdie!
So hows that for making your dreams come true?
What are you all working on...hmmmm?
Come with me to these parties...
