Homemade Patch for holey jeans...kid style!
And they call me super mom! Let me just say I am such a sucker when it comes to my boys. What mom isn't right?
So this morning I'm laying out clothes for my oldest to wear for school, and he starts to complain. He doesn't like the jeans I picked out...
"the bottoms are too big".
"Ummmm ok," I say "well what would you like to wear then?"
"My black skinny jeans"
"Oh you mean the ones with the big ol honkin hole in the knee?"
"yeah"
So my mind starts to go nutso...what the heck can I do, there is only an hour left before we have to leave...
Freezer paper Stencil came to mind!
I jumped on the computer googled "skull and cross bones" saved one I liked with super simple details.
then printed it out in a 3x5 size.
traced it onto the freezer paper, cut it out...really fast! meanwhile he has a seperate pair of black jeans WITH a whole in the knee that are way too short, So I cut a square out of the leg...
Next I ironed the freezer paper stencil onto the scrap piece of jean...and painted it white ( I used regular craft paint...probably not the best for this project...but last minute, it worked great!
Of coarse I didn't have the time to let it dry so I set it under the hair dryer for a bit...
Pealed off the freezer paper, and.....
PERFECT!
now time to break out my iron on transfer paper...and ironed that too the New Patch
Then Ironed that to his "Favorite Black Skinny Jeans!"
He tried them on....and the look on his face was priceless.....then the angels sang! and all that good stuff.... Look at him, how cute my lil punker is!
Well I'm sure I'll have some more stuff to share...Come back and visit soon :)
