Paint your room- Jetson Style

OMG! Have you ever got stuck in a spot where you can't make a decision on a paint color? How many swatches did you have taped to your living room walls? How many squares of sample paint, do you have checkered around your kitchen? Yeah me too... Thank goodness for those $3 sample jars of paint huh?
I have a little dilemma. The majority of the interior walls in our house are brick, and love the aesthetic of them...so no I will not cover them with dry wall...you can't make me :) I want to redo our master bedroom...well I guess you wouldn't really call it a "redo" I always put off our room until last, and honestly it never and I mean never gets done.In fact here it is...

Blah huh....Great bones...just needs some lovin, well lots of lovin. I'm workin on it. I was browsing through Sherwin Williams paint colors, and a pop-up of their Color Visualizer caught my attention. Super Freakin Awesome! You can upload a pick of your room....outline what you want to paint, pick a color, and it paints it for you. No not really paints it, this isn't the Jetsons...lol It does a computer generation of your room with the color! I love this!
There is only 1 mmhhmm 1 small window in our room, so I want to make it bright, and airy. I want blueish-greens, whites and neutrals. I would really love to stain or paint the furniture darker, but I haven't talked the hubby into that yet....*trying* So I want blue, not baby blue, not crayon blue... something tranquil, so this is gonna take awhile. And BTW I used a Sherwin Williams color in my living room Note: I don't have a Sherwin Williams near me so I took the code over to my trusty paint girl at Home Depot and she copied it for me....and woo! do I love that color!
Heres some examples of the colors I'm considering..

Manic Monday Brag- Bead Board Wallpaper

Happy Monday! ugh....I am beginning to not like mondays much....But I am glad I was semi productive over the weekend and now I get to brag about it!

So I couldn't sleep this morning, and was checking out all the cool little parties, follower appreciation thingies, and giveaways. And I decided I wanted to join in. So I am linking up to quite a few....This should be fun!
Well here is my before and after to brag about... Update on Brody's room: finished the bead board wallpaper, added some chair rail and trim.
Before 1:
Please excuse the mess...we just moved in...and the room is soooooo small I cant get the whole thing in on shot :(
Before 2:
Before 3:
So I used a level to mark a straight line, then taped it off....and started to paint. I misplaced the swatch so not sure on the exact name of the paint color....but pretty much lime green. I think it was about $10 for a quart at Home Depot.
After 1:
Beadboard wallpaper $14 a roll. I used 1 1/2 rolls...enough left to do the bathrooms.
After 2:
For the chair rail, I went a little higher up the wall than normal, with hopes of making the room seem a bit larger, I think it worked? We used this foamy molding, super easy to cut and very bendy. I found it at Home Depot $5 for 8ft peice, we needed about 5 peices.
After 3:
And 1 inch trim molding in the same material to cover all the seams...approx 24" apart. Along this wall the long wall, Hubby added a 1x6 shelf/ledge so I can put up "stuff" yeah haven't got that far...but yeah stuff.
This whole project cost under $100...not bad considering the BIG difference it made

Bead Board Wallpaper

Here is a close-up...looks like the real thing, just spongy feeling. It was ok to hang... This was my first attempt, and random strips hung great. Then there were others that were literally peeling off in the corners, I used a little Elmers glue, and applied it with a sponge....it worked. And I will attempt it again!

And Last But Not Least! Heres Where The Parties Are At!

To do list for 2010...In Progress...

I have been cruisin around the blog world, finding so many inspirations...its unbelievable! my mind is going crazy, its even hard to sleep at night...whew...
So I saw a post at Tip Junkie about, to do lists, etc...
And coincidentally a friend of mine and I chat frequently about her list. I have yet to make one for myself... but I would like to. I am an unorganized-organized list maker...you know writing on the back of receipts,on magazine covers, fliers that come in the mail. I know what the heck! I try? So here is my first attempt at a "normal-organized" list:
To do list for 2010
1. Become more "GREEN" I wouldn't mind being a hippie :)
2. Finish Brodys robot room
3. Design and construct my Pantry
4. Concrete counter tops in the kitchen (mainly a hubby thing) I wanna help too!
5. Redo boys/guest bathroom
6. Plant a vegetable garden
7. Hang a clothesline
8. Finish courtyard
9. Mudroom Redo
10.Window treatment all around house
11.Re-do Master Bedroom
12.Start doing what I love and getting paid for it! (buy, redo, sell)
13.Become more organized!

I think that will be all for now...my little bugger is calling me " nannnnnaaaaa" (he means momma, I just know it)lol terrible two's at 18 mos. Who woulda thought...
