Watch out cuz he's late for a very important date...
This is a piece that I loved doing! It definitely had its little down...but after I made it up...I kept on going.
I have been collecting a few pieces of furniture, and refinishing them...and when I picked this little guy up for $10 off Crackslist(ah ha ha thanks Tara) I just knew what look he was getting...
So here he is before
And after some primer(zissner 123). This was the down part, because I used a brush (like a dummy) the bristle marks were outrageous! So After letting the primer dry completely, I sanded like heck to get them to fade. Unfortunately they didn't fade as much as I wanted them too. Next I went ahead and sprayed one coat of paint (heirloom white). and it already looked a bit better :)
Because of the shape of the table top being an oval...I wanted to try this "Roman Numeral" design I saw over at pottery Barn, and remembered seeing on other blogs, but I just can't remmeber where...Check out the clock in the backdrop of the photo below
Thats what I wanted...So I went for it.
I printed out some roman numerals...only the 3,6,9,12 because of the shape, I didn't want it too cramped. Then I traced the numbers onto shelf paper, and cut them out with my exacto knife... easy peasy!
I place them where I wanted them on the table top, and painted the numbers in with some plain ol black craft paint.
Sooo....a little more distressing, and some glaze...and he turned out like this!
Cute huh! Oh and I painted the hardware satin black too :)
I sure hope a lucky someone will fall in love with him, and take him to a good home :)
Oh and I'm linking up to these great parties...
More to come...so stick around!

That is darling! I love it! OK - I want step by step directions on the whole craft/contact paper/painting the numbers details. I'm lost. I'm blonde. I'm stressed. :)
GREAT JOB!!!!! I can't wait for this week to be over so I can get crafty again. . .
ah, Nikki! I love this one! <33 what would be even more cooler is if you found a piece of glass around the same shape as the table and put the hands (like clock hands) under the glass!! but still, I would definitely buy this if I had the money! *loves old-world clocks*
<33 (btw this is steph~)
