Fit to be Queen

Or well maybe a Teeny Queen...

I'm telling you, I have been inheriting these teeny tables like crazy, I still have 2 left. And to make this one stand out...I added a little Royal Charm to it...
She started out looking like this...

I gave her a shower with Krylon Almond in a satin finish. Here is her top...I somehow lost the whole body shot?

Then my new thing is using contact/shelf paper as a stencils...So I did it again...
1st googled crowns(under google images)
2nd found one and printed it out
3rd traced it onto the TRANSPARENT contact/shelf paper ( I use transparent obviously so its easier to see through)
4th cut it out...like so...

Now that I have it sticking to the table top, I paint over the stencil. I used spray paint this time...Don't like it...won't do it again :( I would rather use plain old craft paint and a sponge brush.

And as you can see in the pic below...I was to anxious and didn't wait long enough for the almond paint to dry all the way...so when I took the stencil off....it took some of the paint with it...

So needless to say I had some touch ups to do...ugh, see where impatience gets you...nowhere. pfft...
After the touching up was done, I let it dry OVERNIGHT then roughed it up a bit with my lil' mouse sander, and used some stain I have laying around, wiped it on, let it sit for a sec, then wiped it off, with a damp rag. And the results are in...

All Done...cute huh.
I am on a roll...for sure, so come back soon :)
