DIY Flower Petal Pillow

I've been wanting for awhile to add a little 3-D to my throw pillows. Either by adding some felt or stenciling somethin cute. After stalking Martha Stewart a bit I found exactly what I was wanting, and to top it off it was super easy. I definately need to visit her site regularly...there was way to much to see in one sitting!

I started off with a little throw pillow that was just way too plain for me.
I just so happened to have some coordinating ultra-suede remnant fabric. I always pick up at least one remnant when I'm at joanns, just to add to my stockpile *smiles*. On marthas tutorial she offers a printable template for the petals. I didn't use it though, I actually just free-handed the same shape and started cutting.

Don't forget to knot end of your thread then sew a running stitch through bottom of each petal, making 2 stitches for each.

Gently pull thread to gather petals, and knot thread. I made one more stitch to connect first to the fourth petal to form flower shape I then knotted and trim the thread. Sorry forgot to snap a shot of this part. I only wanted a couple of flowers total... I'm even wondering if that many will last a pillow fight between my boys? I'm sure I'll do this again on some pillows for my master bedroom....ooh or even on a shower curtain...my mind is wandering *tee hee* If you try these....let me know how they turn out?
Aaannnd here is the finished product!

Great job on the box.
